British Lt. Col. Archibald Campbell sends units to Briar Creek. Patriot forces at the bridge learn of their approach and set fire to the bridge. The British force the Patriot forces to withdraw, thus allowing time to put out the fire and capture the bridge at The Battle of Briar Creek, GA.
